Privacy policy
Information about personal data processing under Articles 13 and 14 GDPR, where applicable.
Last updated: 2026-10-11
1. Controller
The data controller is Maciej Waśkiewicz, Al. Grunwaldzka 116/11, 80-244 Gdańsk, Polska. Contact: support@lapchecker.pl; phone: +48 514 013 677.
2. Data categories
Hosting and anti-abuse systems may process IP addresses, browser information, technical identifiers, security signals, timestamps and request errors.
Searches, entered budgets, prices and comparisons are calculated in your browser; no individual user accounts or server-side personal preference profiles are created. The browser loads the local hardware catalogue and public price observations.
Language, theme, favourites and privacy notice acknowledgement may be stored locally on your device.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Operating the free service and essential request handling/security are based, as applicable, on GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) or (f), including the legitimate interest in protecting service integrity.
Correspondence and requests may be processed under Art. 6(1)(b) or (f), and legal obligations under Art. 6(1)(c). Any optional analytics or marketing introduced later will require fresh legal assessment and applicable consent before device access.
Google AdSense verification code
Pages load the Google AdSense script for site verification. This request shares technical information such as IP address and browser headers with Google. Ad requests are paused. Acknowledging the privacy notice does not grant advertising consent. Ad serving requires a suitable consent management platform (CMP).
4. Processors and recipients
Technical data may be processed by Vercel; the AdSense verification script also connects to Google while ad requests are paused. Email providers may process correspondence.
The application does not connect to Firestore or reCAPTCHA. Hosting and Google may process technical metadata outside Poland.
5. Transfers outside the EEA
Global infrastructure may involve access to or transfers of personal data outside the EEA, subject to applicable safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses as described in the relevant provider data-processing terms.
6. Retention
Local preferences remain until you delete them. The privacy notice reminder is renewed no later than 180 days. Technical logs and security information are retained as reasonably required and according to the actual Google service settings; precise periods must be verified before launch.
Emails are retained for case handling and, where needed, lawful claims or record-keeping.
7. Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis. You can complain to the Polish Data Protection Authority at uodo.gov.pl. See Your GDPR rights.
8. Automated decision-making
Laptop suggestions are automated shopping guidance. LapChecker does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning visitors under Art. 22 GDPR.
9. Cookies and future monetisation
See the Cookies and storage page for the currently used local preferences and fraud-protection technologies. Analytics and advertising are currently disabled. They will require revised disclosures and consent mechanisms if introduced.
10. Policy updates
We may update this policy when features or processors change. The newest version and update date will be available here.
